Questions? Doubts?
Here we have gathered the questions we are asked most often.
A domain that's already registered cannot be registered by others. The only way to recover an already booked domain is to buy it back from the current holder (through a direct sale at a freely set price) or wait for the domain to expire and be put back on sale (assuming that happens).
Most registrars offer anonymization services to limit the information available to the public and protect the confidentiality of domain holders' data. The GDPR has also significantly reduced the amount of information shown in the Whois in order to protect the privacy of European citizens. To contact a domain's holder you therefore need to contact the company that manages it (the registrar) based on the information found in the Whois.
If you couldn't find the domain you're looking for in the Whois, it means it is currently available and you can register it.
Some registries do not provide the Whois service (for example, as is the case with .es). For more information, we invite you to consult the documentation of the registry for the extension you're interested in directly.
