Here we've gathered the questions we're asked most often.
EV (Extended Validation) certificates are reserved for organizations, businesses and companies registered with the business register or the chamber of commerce, because they require in-depth verification of the company's identity.
- The free certificate (Let's Encrypt) guarantees the same level of encryption as a DV or EV: it's perfect if you simply need to protect your site's connection. However, it does not include:
- manual verification of the company's identity (EV)
- the warranty for end users (EV/DV)
Yes. You just need to export the request file (CSR) from your current host and enter it when ordering: the certificate will work even on a site managed elsewhere. More information
- If the site already has a free certificate, switching to DV or EV requires nothing on your part.
- If the site is not yet protected, some small setup may be needed: if in doubt, we'll help you. More information
Renewal is handled automatically: by ordering a certificate for 1, 2, 3 or 5 years, we take care of the periodic renewal, so your site's protection always stays active without any action from you.
From 12 March 2026, SSL certificates have a maximum duration of 6 months, due to new security requirements. By choosing a certificate for 1, 2, 3 or 5 years, we take care of the automatic renewal every 6 months.
